Joanne Weil Heald, (aka WayBlonde), is a singer and rhythm guitarist from the San Francisco Bay Area. With over 20 years of experience, she has performed as a solo performer as well as with numerous musical groups. Her primary musical style weaves a mixture of old and new country, bluegrass and folk with standard swing and Western swing styles, however she also appreciates songs from contemporary country and pop to classics from the rockers of the seventies.
Joanne's style is reflective, spirited, and soulful yet maintains a connection to traditions from all the genres she loves. As a singer, Joanne chooses songs that speak to her love for rhythm and melody but which also reflect her heart and spirit, her personal experiences and values. The variety in her repertoire and performance is not limited to just one kind of music but selected freely from among several genres. Her goal is to draw her audience into the music through familiar, and not-so-familiar songs that are chosen for their story, mood or melodies.
Joanne performs alongside a stellar, versatile band featuring lead guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin and stand up bass. She recently celebrated the release of its first cd, "It's True What They Say", in 2007.
Whether the occasion be a wedding, private party, formal concert or social gathering, Joanne's music will deliver energy, sincerity and fun to all. |
